A MAN was assaulted in a fight in Market Square, Witney.

At about 2.10am on Friday, officers were called to a fight and found a 21-year-old man with facial injuries who was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene and released on police bail.

PC Adrian Brooksbank said: "The incident took place near to Izi's bar and the stop for the number 100 bus to Carterton.

"There was a significant number of members of the public around at the time and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the fight."
