Does advertising fatty foods make people fat? Should we allow commercials promoting an unhealthy life style?

Re:Call for children's food ad curbs - 03/11/06 18:11 They need to do more then just ban Junk food. Kids would rather play video games then football or some other active sports. I Love - Mywitney

Re:Call for children's food ad curbs - 03/11/06 18:47 The game manufacturers have made an attempt at trying to get kids to be fit.. There is a playstation 2 "game" that uses a camera that forces people to move.... though from what I have seen it's not that popular, after all, why get all sweaty when you can zone out on hundreds of other games.

Nintendo is also coming out with a controller that responds to movement, so movement will be a criticial part of the games...

But still not the same as playing a game of football or tag.

Re:Call for children's food ad curbs - 04/11/06 16:38 Education starts with parents, they can choose the type of food for the kids…for a while.
Anyway the biggest fast food chain, you know who has a great marketing regarding children consumers, they know if they get the kids, they will get the parents and of course kids will be grown ups one day no?
Birthday parties, toys…and children really like the food. I don’t.
And depends what kind of stores are near schools as well, what products they offer.
I agree that there should be more information regarding components.
