Here it is again
I would start with "Zone Alarm", a personal firewall program, then you can see exactly what is trying to get out or into your computer. A hardware firewall is NOT enough, you also need a software firewall!
When you have zone alarm running it will pop open a message box when ever somthing tries to go out. If you see something you don't recognize do an internet search to find out what it is.
I would also get a personal spyware detection program such as "Adaware". Other may have favorites. Run the full scan and see what it finds. I imagine it will find a lot.
I only suggest both because they are free.
