Maitenance Outages - 31/10/06 19:30
Dear MyWitney Patrons,
I would like to thank everyone for being a part of the of our community's web site. Yesterday evening several users tried to access MyWitney and instead of the site they received a cryptic error message. They then sent me an email to notify me of the outage.
After receiving the emails I promptly contacted the MyWitney Web Team and our web hosting service to address the outage. A few frantic phone calls later we had pinned the outage to some work that our web host was doing on their servers. Specifically they were performing some emergency maintenance in response to the findings of a security consultant.
Our web host has assured us that the outage was a rare occurrence. They also assured the MyWitney Web Team and myself that there will be a closer dialog in the future regarding any work that may have an adverse affect on our site. We will extend this dialog onto you to keep you informed.
Our Web Team is also working on improving the error pages to provide contact information just in case a similar event occurs in the future. The best way to notify us of a problem is to send an email to webmaster@mywitney.co.uk
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for your support of the MyWitney site. All of you have helped to make this site site a great resource to visitors and the surrounding community.
