Witney Discussions

Looking for a job - 18/12/08 07:44 I am currently finishing off my BA (Hons) in Marketing Management at University College Birmingham and I have now completed my dissertation and lectures have finished. I am expected to achieve at least a 2:2.

Prior to this I completed my Diploma of Higher Education in Marketing Management in February 2008.

My ideal role salary is negotiable. I am interested in working in the following areas and roles:

· Marketing &PR

· Administration & PA

· Customer Services

· Recruitment Consultancy

· Graduate Roles

· Management & Executive Roles

I can work any where in oxford but would prefer something in Witney.

I am open to any offers form a temporary position from now until the end of summer. I do not mind working either early mornings, late evening and weekends.

Overall would describe myself as an extremely lively and enthusiastic person and find that I am the type of person that works well in hardworking environments. I have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interacting with people that have different cultures and backgrounds. I also like to take on new challenges.

I currently do not have any holidays booked for this year and I am able to start work straightaway.

Kind Regards

Ms Selina Anderson Dip HE (MM)

Re:Looking for a job - 18/12/08 09:32 Hi Selina welcome to the boards

I think for someone who has no experience your asking rate is too much.

I would first get in a door and in current client not many companies will someone inexperienced £30k.

My advice is try to get in the door and then work hard and impress your employers and then ask for a pay rise.

Good luck with the job hunting

Re:Looking for a job - 18/12/08 09:56 If i was you i would put that you're 'open' or are 'negotiable'. This way you are not pricing out yourself.

Good Luck with your job hunting.

Re:Looking for a job - 18/12/08 12:12 The key to successful salary negotiation is information. If you know the industry going rate, the salary range for the position you’re seeking, and are prepared to state your case for a higher salary when the offer is made, you will be in great shape to get a higher starting salary.

Whether or not we’re in a good employment market, I know of companies that do not negotiate salary; so even when you have all the information, you still might not be able to negotiate a higher salary.

Maybe you should add your email address so if someone wants to email you the they can (but not safe) or email admin and see if they can pass your messages to you.

Good Luck!!!!
