I guess that is why truckers are truckers. Should we also think of switching our rail infrastructure to solely electric, as diesel will become far less economical.
I dont think the issue is $130+ per barrel of oil the issue the tax on it.
The official Duty Rate is £0.5035 per Litre with VAT of 17.5% added to the cost of product and duty. Soo tax is nearer 68%. Cost of Petrol at £1.15 would breakdown as follows: 50.35p Duty, Product 37.35p, VAT 17.13p Retailer/Delivery 10.17p Cost of Diesel at £1.27.9p Duty 50.35p, Product 45.98p, VAT 19.05p Retailer/delivery 12.52p. Where does all this tax go I hear you say?
MP's second homes, expenses and taxi's for their spouses shopping trips!
