Housework: how even is the workload in your house? - 07/05/08 22:38 I am a single mum, so I end up doing pretty much everything. My son does a few chores but nothing much LOL! I still spend a lot of time cooking and cleaning.

Do you contribute to the housework, or do you have to do everything yourself?

Re:Housework: how even is the workload in your house? - 08/05/08 08:49 Very little to be honest!!!! He is quite lazy when it comes to housework, I clear up after him as well as the kids!!!!

His "jobs" are to empty the kitchen bins, mow the lawn & put the bins out on bin day......and that's his limit

He will OCCASIONALLY help me with the dishes, but more often than not just ignores the pile I'm doing......and says he'll make me a cup of tea when I've finished

But he's quite handy if the washer breaks or the tumble dryer dies, as he fixes them for a living, so he always sorts out those problems!!

Re:Housework: how even is the workload in your hou - 09/05/08 03:57 mm what is it with men and housework? Mine doesn't help out either. And I'm sorry but taking out the trash and changing some lightbulbs every now and then are not considered to be 'contributing equally'!

I have yet to meet a man who does help withcooking, washing up, cleaning or laundry. I wonder why this is?

I wonder what bachelors do?
