technical help pleeeeeease! - 22/04/08 02:43 I'm having a veery irritating problem with my Windows Media player.. Anything I try to watch is jerky and the audio and video unsync themselves at times.

I'm using windows XP on a laptop, everything is updated and the problem only started recently.

Is there a techno genius here who can help me? Does it sound like a virus?

When you say it started recently what has changed?

Maybe try downloading the codes see if that helps.

Finally i would try to uninstall and re-install media player that normally works.

I can't think of anything that has changed... I downloaded an alarm clock - could that be it?

What do you mean downloading the codes?

One more stupid question - how do I uninstall and reinstall Windows Media player?

I have a brand new episode of Lost that I absolutely have to watch hence the urgency

I would uninstall the media player and also uninstall the alarm clock. Then reboot the laptop and then re-install it and it should work.

You can uninstall it by going to into add and remove programmes ( in control panel.

I think dicoflash meant Codecs...lol
