I have just done a test case on the budget calculator. A couple both age 35 with 8 kids (not that unusual) who both dont work, last year would get £5345.6 in child benefit and £15305 in Tax Credits. After the budget they get £5545.8 in child benefit and £17225 in Tax Credits. That is now nearly £23000 a year for nothing. No wonder they don't want to get out and work!!!!!
