If you've never suffered from clinical depression, nor been close to someone who has, then your opinion carries little weight.
This new research is very, very interesting. I have a friend who is clinically depressed but is very anti-drugs - they're just not for him. On the other hand, some of my family are clinically depressed and cannot survive without the drugs.
In any case, something is needed by the sufferer, even if it's just a placebo. It's the diagnosis that's important.
