Get Taxed for Being "Fat?" - 14/11/07 21:00
OK, don't know about the rest of you, but I'm reeling a little about this one: Here's what I just picked up:
"An Australian doctor has caused controversy by urging airlines to charge obese passengers more for their seats.
"Dr John Tickell, an author and nutritionist, said that given that around two-thirds of men in Australia are overweight or obese, it was time to take a stand.
"Health groups have criticised the idea of a so-called "fat-tax", saying that to single out people with weight problems could cause emotional stress.
Could a fat tax help reduce obesity? Is it right for governments to make laws over this issue? Are you overweight? If so, what is your perspective on this idea?

Abominable! Look, we've been fighting off Big Brother LONG BEFORE the clock struck calendar year 1984, and this looks like just one more way to "control the people!"
I thought the Germans lost the war...
