I think the changes are great and hope that women feel empowered by them - choice on such a personal matter is always a bonus.
Also it is important that maternity services are reviewed and improved. They are currently so stretched that women are routinely sent home to labour right up to the last minute and then very often give birth at home or in the car, without any kind of medical support. An injection of cash is required now, regardless of whether these proposals are implemented or not.
